This project started in 1997 with the realisation that memories of the people who died during the two wars were rapidly slipping away. Soon, all that will be left is a list of names on war memorials. Indeed, that is what we found in too many cases; it was very difficult to locate memories or family traditions. It is to be hoped that the publication of this book will encourage relatives to send information, for the project should not stop with the publication of these records.
